The Couch Reset

A free floor routine. A couch, a pillow and a strap.

Hey y’all. I’m Kevin, a movement coach with The Movement Code.

I’ve always been a curious person, and I need the why. With my own back, it took me years to see it: the spot that hurt wasn’t the one causing the trouble. It was doing extra work for somewhere else.

The Couch Reset is a simple way to start noticing what each side of your body is doing. You rest your calves on the couch, let the floor take your weight, and move your arms through three positions. Then you write down what each side did.

  1. A safety page to read before you lie down

  2. What you need: a couch, a pillow, and a strap or belt

  3. How to get in and out, step by step

  4. Three positions, timed: 5, 3 and 3 minutes

  5. A page of questions about what you noticed

  6. The whole routine on one card, to keep

It’s not a HIIT workout. Mostly, you lie there and pay attention.
